A minor was hospitalized in Ohrid after an incident involving the consumption of alcohol at a local restaurant. Following the event, local police authorities initiated a criminal complaint targeting the company that operates the establishment, as well as the owner, identified as E.N., residing in Ohrid. The complaint stems from suspicions that the venue permitted the consumption of alcohol by individuals under the legal age.

According to the official police filing, a fourteen-year-old male was served alcohol at a street-side establishment located on “Partizanska” street. Crucially, the police noted that the service occurred without any verifiable identification or age confirmation being presented to the establishment’s staff. After consuming the alcoholic beverage, the 14-year-old boy required medical attention and was subsequently transported to the Ohrid Opshtata hospital.

The investigation by law enforcement focuses on the failure of the business to adhere to regulations concerning the sale and provision of alcohol to minors within the community of Ohrid. The action taken by the police underscores the local authorities’ commitment to enforcing age restrictions related to alcohol consumption. The incident highlights the ongoing public safety concerns regarding the sale of alcohol to individuals under the legal age within the region.
