MEPSO Issues Safety Warning to Landowners Regarding Water Mains

MEPSO has issued a formal request to landowners to exercise extreme caution when using mechanization equipment near its water mains. The appeal follows an incident that occurred on June 22, 2026, at 13:45. Specifically, MEPSO is requesting landowners to avoid utilizing systems for flooding, land-based mechanization, and other equipment in the immediate vicinity of the transmission network’s water mains.

The organization emphasizes the importance of being careful when operating any machinery or equipment close to these vital infrastructure components. The warning includes a prohibition against installing flood systems or placing metal cups within the area surrounding the water mains. MEPSO stated that these actions pose a potential risk to the safety of the public and the security of the electricity system.

“For the sake of safety of the holiday and security of the electricity system, it is not necessary to use machines or other land-based mechanization under the water mains, to not place flood systems in the water mains and under the power lines, and not to place metal cups in the vicinity of the water mains,” MEPSO stated. Landowners are urged to prioritize safety and adhere to these guidelines to prevent potential disruptions and ensure the continued operation of the transmission network.
