Weather Alert Issued for Northern Macedonia Following Heavy Rainfall
The Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (УХМР) has issued a forecast indicating continued unsettled weather conditions across Northern Macedonia through the end of the work week. Preceding rain is expected, with variable cloud cover anticipated during the morning hours, punctuated by periods of sunshine. However, afternoon conditions will see an increased risk of localized heavy showers, thunder, and strong winds.
The institute predicts intensified processes on Thursday, bringing with it the possibility of substantial flash flooding, strong winds, and hail. Western areas will experience sustained winds from the west, with speeds potentially reaching 60 kilometers per hour intermittently. This weather system is expected to reconnect the cities of Prilep and Bitola via rail, with ticket prices set at 150 denars.
Furthermore, authorities have reported instances of manipulation detected during inspections of dairy products. Discussions regarding ongoing challenges within the DUI political party were also noted. The institute’s forecast highlights the need for vigilance after the rain and the potential for hazardous conditions due to thunder.
