AFD IS CONFIDENTLY WATCHING THE NEW ANKET – The far right is becoming stronger in Germany

The German right-wing party Alternative for Germany (AfD) reached a new maximum in potential voter support, according to the survey by INSA released today. According to the survey, 35 percent of the respondents said they could consider voting for the AfD. That is six percentage points more than the instantaneous support for the party and enough to surpass the electoral potential of the Christian Democratic Union CDU/CSU under the chancellor Friedrich Merz.

In the same survey, the respondents said which party they would vote for when the next elections are held. The AfD had the first 29 percent of the support, which further consolidated the lead it had been holding for months. The CDU/CSU fell to 21 percent, which is more than a half percentage point less than the percentage of votes in the February 2017 elections.
