Two Incidents Involving Horses Result in Injury and Death in Tetovo
Tetovo, North Macedonia – June 6, 2026 – Two separate incidents involving horses resulted in serious injury and one fatality in the Tetovo region yesterday. At approximately 11:16 a.m., a 32-year-old woman sustained injuries after being struck by a trotting horse on Ilindenska Street. The woman, identified as I.G., was taken to the clinic in Tetovo and subsequently transferred to the Kompleks klinike “Makata Teresa” in Skopje for advanced medical care due to the severity of her injuries.
Later, at approximately 2:47 p.m., a 16-year-old boy from the village of Liscic was electrocuted by a trotting horse. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Additionally, at 2:43 p.m., the Tetovska police responded to a report of a trotting horse without a permit and a pony, identified as 6.0.
These events are currently under investigation by the Tetovo Rapid Response Squad (SRS Tetovo). Further details regarding the investigations are pending. It’s important to note that this year has seen a concerning rise in incidents involving livestock in the region.
