WILL THE “UČK” BE BANNED? – The Macedonian government and the region of Macedonia if the Hague court condemns the commandants

Nasim Haradinaj, former commander of the OVC, issued direct and threatening warnings regarding a potential escalation of the situation in the region. He stated that Kosovo, Albania, and Macedonia “will burn” if the Special Court delivers a condemnatory verdict against OVC commanders on September 16. During an appearance on TV7, Haradinaj asserted that the reaction to any imprisonment sentence for Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rizaj Selim, and Jashup Krasniqi would be violent, impacting not only Kosovo but the entire Albanian population.

According to the Kosovo media outlet “Zeri,” Haradinaj indicated his awareness of anticipated celebrations from certain individuals following a condemnatory decision. However, he warned that those who plan to celebrate would themselves face severe consequences. Haradinaj further suggested that the court in The Hague lacks the resolve to issue such a ruling.

His statements imply a high degree of instability linked to the judicial outcome concerning these figures. The comments raise significant geopolitical concerns for the stability of the wider region, particularly involving Kosovo and Macedonia, and suggest a potential breakdown of peace should the specified legal action take place.
