RAMA accused IRAN of standing behind the protests in ALBANIA

Albanian Prime Minister Attributes Zvornik Protests to a “Hybrid War”

Tivat – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has characterized the ongoing protests surrounding the Zvornik project as part of a deliberate “hybrid war,” responding to media reports. Speaking from Tivat, Rama stated that the demonstrations are spearheaded by individuals of Iranian origin, who are also implicated in other recent incidents. The Prime Minister emphasized that the current situation largely centers on the demand for specific videos related to the project, rather than a substantive discussion of its merits or concerns.

He asserted that the project, a luxury resort development in the Zvornik region, has not been formally approved, and therefore, there is limited opportunity for debate. Rama indicated that the videos being requested originate from Tirana, suggesting a centralized direction of influence. He reiterated that the lack of approval prevents meaningful discussion regarding the project’s scope and potential impact.

Tonight’s planned demonstration in Tirana marks the sixth consecutive protest against the development, which is being overseen by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former U.S. President Donald Trump. —

  1. “It’s deeply concerning to see such a broad characterization of peaceful protests as a deliberate act of aggression.”
