The reconstruction of the railway station in Skopje, along with the railway line connecting Dračevica to Ilinden, has been completed. As a result, overland transport routes within Skopje are undergoing redirection. During a test run of the overland transport, representatives including the President of the Municipality of Skopje, Aleksandar Nikoloski, and the Minister of Transport, along with the Director of JPP Infrastructure, Sinisa Ivanovski, addressed the proceedings.
Nikoloski stated that the testing of the overland transport on the newly reconstructed railway line was a significant milestone. The test specifically involved the practical railway station in Grodot Skopje and the segment linking Dračevica and Ilinden, which will now be served by the redirected overland transport. He indicated that the implementation of this project is expected to improve the organization and overall development of the entire transport system in the area.
The successful testing underscores the modernization efforts within Skopje’s infrastructure. The integration of the reconstructed railway with adjusted overland routes aims to create a more efficient and cohesive public transport network. These developments are anticipated to enhance connectivity and support the continued development of the transport sector across Skopje.
