Police Seize Vehicle Carrying Migrants Near Blace
On June 17, 2026, at approximately 7:47 PM, a police vehicle from the State Border Guard Service (SRC) in Skopje took custody of a passenger vehicle during a traffic stop. The incident occurred when the vehicle, registered under the plates of another vehicle, failed to comply with a police request to stop. Following the initial refusal to halt, the vehicle turned onto a rural road towards the village of Blace.
Police subsequently intercepted the vehicle, leading to the discovery of 12 migrants inside. Five of the individuals were identified as nationals of Egypt, while the remaining seven were from Turkey. Upon the stop, the migrants were taken into custody and subsequently relocated to the transit center in Tabanovac.
Following the incident, authorities initiated measures to secure the scene and manage the situation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was involved in the operation, with activity centered around the Tabanovac transit center. The incident involved a police stop and the seizure of a vehicle transporting migrants.
