The European Commission issued a warning to Albania to refrain from the proposal that could jeopardize its membership in the European Union, under the conditions of the recent protests across the country due to the war-related project proposed by the American President Donald Trump, reports Politico. Protests in Albania continue for 10 days, and the Albanian people are also becoming increasingly restless, as the ban on the construction of luxury apartments by an investor proposed by the Trump’s son Jared Kushner is lifted. Opponents of the project claim that it represents a threat to the environment, as well as to the existence of the flamingo, the Mediterranean monk seal, marine dolphins and other endangered animal species.
The European Commission warned that the project could lead Albania into conflict with environmental protection.
