The Mayor of Moscow: “We have been warned that over 200 drones have been launched”

According to reports citing the mayor of Moscow, Russian air defense forces have intercepted and neutralized a significant volume of unmanned aerial vehicles approaching the capital. The official statement, shared via the X platform, detailed the scope of the defense operations over the preceding 24-hour period. The mayor reported that the air defense systems successfully intercepted more than 200 drone flights.

These interceptions included numerous drones neutralized by air defense assets originating from a distant base, alongside the destruction of 62 hostile drones specifically noted as approaching the main city of Moscow. These figures indicate a sustained and heightened level of activity by the city’s air defense apparatus in responding to aerial incursions. The reports confirm that the defensive measures were deployed to counter multiple threats posed by unauthorized drones.

The operational success, as stated, involved both the neutralization of aerial threats at remote locations and the direct interception of hostile drones nearing the metropolitan area. The information regarding the extensive air defense activity in the Moscow region was also reported by TASS.
