Analysis of the national pension system has commenced, with the state bank identifying the need for comprehensive reforms. Current data reveals that only 1% of pensioners receive the maximum pension payout. Conversely, the largest group of pensioners, accounting for 36.81%, receive pensions ranging between 20,229 and 23,945 dinars.
Looking ahead, structural changes are anticipated within the pension framework. It is noted that 64% of the insured funds held in the second pension column are currently linked to state enterprises. Regarding payouts, 534 individuals are projected to gain pension rights from a combination of the PIO and the second pension column funds by 2025.
While the influx of new pensioners utilizing the second pension system remains modest, the system anticipates a major milestone. The establishment of a substantial number of pensioners is projected for the 2029/2030 period. This timing coincides with the planned redistribution of the first pension fund, which will incorporate contributions from private pension funds alongside state payments.
These figures underscore the ongoing transition within the national pension structure. The management of pension funds and the determination of future pension amounts in dinars remain central topics of the state bank’s review, aiming to ensure the long-term viability and fairness of the benefits provided to all pensioners.
