The army of the “Ilyinden” Caravan presented a new military contract worth 40 million euros

At the RSDM headquarters in the “Iliнден” barracks in Skopje, representatives received a presentation regarding a significant new procurement package for the Macedonian Army. The acquisition, financed by the European Union through the European Peace Fund, is valued at over 40 million euros. The presentation detailed the scope of the modernizing procurement, which includes advanced equipment such as radar systems, thermal cameras, transport vehicles, simulators, 3D radar units, and transfer sensors.

The process of acquiring this defense materiel is structured across three distinct phases. Officials were informed that the first package has already been successfully delivered to the ground. The second phase is currently in its final stages of arrival.

The final phase involves the detailed examination and acquisition of crucial logistical support, communication infrastructure, and foot traffic equipment. The formal presentation was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the Euroambassador, Mikelis Rukas; Prime Minister Hristijan Mitzkoski; and the Chief of General Staff, Hasko Lafcikani. Additionally present were the Minister for Procurement, Vlad Misailovski, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to the European Union.

The comprehensive nature of this procurement underscores a substantial upgrade to the capabilities of the national army. The event formally presented the EU’s commitment to supporting the modernization efforts of the Macedonian defense sector through this multi-phased procurement initiative.
