NASA instructed the astronomers at the International World Assembly to prepare for evacuation

NASA Issues Evacuation Order for International Assembly Crew

Washington – NASA has ordered the International Assembly’s “Kru-12” mission crew to prepare for potential evacuation following a critical air leakage issue within the Russian segment of the orbital laboratory, “Kru Dragon.” The directive was issued by NASA mission control on June 5, 2026, at 19:29 hours. The crew, comprised of four individuals – two American astronomers, one French astronomer, and one Russian cosmonaut – were instructed to secure their position within the “Kru Dragon” module, which is attached to the broader International Assembly’s orbital infrastructure. The issue stems from difficulties experienced by the Russian team attempting to repair a significant air leak in the Russian section of the laboratory.

NASA officials stated that until the repair is successfully completed, the safety of the entire assembly and its personnel remains a primary concern. This incident highlights ongoing challenges associated with maintaining the complex systems of the International Assembly’s orbital laboratories. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
