A Skopje resident has reported a fraud to police, involving a sum of 309,800 dinars. The report details an incident where the 44-year-old man and his son were approached by an individual seeking a bank loan. According to the initial report, the two men were previously acquainted.

Over the past several days, the individual had been receiving payments from the man, purportedly for the disbursement of funds related to approved flood relief loans. The loans were intended to be utilized for assistance following recent flooding events. However, the loans were ultimately unsuccessful.

The case was subsequently brought to the attention of the Skopje Serious Crime Squad (SRS). Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fraud and working to determine the full extent of the situation. They are also focused on identifying any other individuals potentially affected by the deception.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities aiming to clarify the details of the transaction and assess the broader impact of the fraud. The MUP is actively pursuing leads to resolve the case and prevent further incidents of this nature.
