Durmishi: No company can do a job for the pay that is lower than the minimum

Durmishi Stresses Companies Unable to Operate at Current Minimum Wage Levels

Durmiši – Economy and Labor Minister Besar Durmishi issued a firm statement on June 2, 2026, asserting that no companies within Durmiši are currently able to operate with the legally mandated minimum wage. Speaking at a press conference alongside the Director of the Agency for Employment, Minister Durmishi emphasized a proactive approach to ensuring compliance. “No company can find work for the minimum wage that is set by the law,” Durmishi stated categorically.

He indicated that his administration will implement sanctions if companies are found to be requiring employees at the established minimum wage level. The Minister addressed concerns regarding economic stability, stating that current prices remain stable. However, he cautioned that should a significant economic downturn occur, “emergency measures” would be considered.

Durmishi’s comments highlight a key challenge facing the Durmiši economy – the compatibility of the minimum wage regulations with the operational needs of local businesses. The Minister’s position underscores a commitment to enforcing the law and potentially influencing company structures to align with established labor standards.
