Macedonian police officers from the Intervention Police Unit detained a Kosovo Albanian national, identified as R.E., aged 24, in Skopje on “Jadranska Magistrala” around 10 PM. The incident originated at the Blace border crossing, where a customs officer was conducting an inspection of R.E.’s vehicle, a BMW bearing Kosovo license plates. According to reports, R.E.

started the vehicle, maneuvered it, and allegedly dragged the customs officer with the car before fleeing toward Skopje. Police authorities promptly mobilized, and officers from the Intervention Police Unit intervened. The vehicle was stopped, and R.E.

was subsequently taken into custody. During the investigation and subsequent search of the scene, police recovered a bag containing marijuana and a pocket knife from the vehicle. R.E.

reported that while escaping, he threw a bag. The Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MVR) confirmed the detention and the recovery of evidence. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to maintain security across the border regions, including areas near the Som checkpoint vicinity.

The initial confrontation escalated into a pursuit that concluded with the subject’s arrest by specialized police units.
