Manchester United Focuses on Midfield Signings Ahead of Upcoming Season
Manchester United is continuing its efforts to bolster its squad with the acquisition of midfielders, primarily from Atlético Madrid. Edgar is currently believed to be the club’s first signing for the current season. The club’s strategy is driven by the anticipated demands of competing in four major competitions – including the Champions League – throughout the upcoming season.
Recent performances have highlighted a need for increased midfield strength. Edgar is expected to join for a fee of £35 million. Furthermore, Manchester United is reportedly considering other midfield options, including Elliot Anderson, Carlos Balaban, Mateus Fernandes, and Aurélien Chumain (from Real Madrid).
The club is also addressing goalkeeper needs, with Hélder anticipated to depart. Several prominent names have been linked with potential moves, including Brazilian midfielder Mateus Krupi, Polish defender Robert Lewandowski, and Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic. United’s management is evaluating the potential integration of two new midfielders into the first team, alongside addressing the goalkeeper position.
The focus remains on strengthening the squad to compete effectively across all fronts during the next season.
