Knesset Passes Controversial Donation Law in Final Vote

Jerusalem – The Knesset passed a significant law following a final reading, according to minutes released by mediators. The legislation was proposed by a coalition of delegates representing various political parties. Specifically, the law was introduced by delegates Cvi Sucot of Religious Zionism, alongside Lior Shon Har-Melek from Jewish Voice, a party led by Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Other Knesset members supported the proposal. The vote resulted in 32 delegates casting “yes” votes and 23 voting “no.” The new law grants residents the right to receive donations throughout the year. A key provision allows individuals to designate multiple beneficiaries, ultimately selecting one from a list of available recipients.

The law’s passage marks a notable development following discussions among the delegates. It is expected to come into effect immediately. The legislation reflects ongoing debates within the Knesset regarding social welfare programs and the distribution of resources.

Further details regarding the implementation of the law are forthcoming.
