Over the preceding 24 hours, a total of 26 open-air fires were reported across the state’s territory, according to the Central Office for Crisis Management (CUK). Current data indicates that there are no active fires remaining. Firefighters successfully located and extinguished 25 of the reported fires.
One incident remains under control in Kriva Palanka, where a municipal waste depot situated near the town was burning. The CUK reported that fire crews managed to extinguish numerous fires across various regions. In the Skopje Region, interventions were required in the towns of Aeros, Saraj, Petrovec, Karpoš, and Kisela voda.
These efforts addressed blazes involving trees, low vegetation, and brush. Furthermore, other significant fires were extinguished in Novač, Prilep, Resen, Struga, and Kičevo, where the burning materials included low vegetation, sheds, and depots. The continuous response highlights the scope of the recent incidents.
Authorities confirm that the swift action of emergency services was instrumental in bringing the majority of the fires under control. The consistent monitoring and rapid deployment of resources ensured that the vast majority of the reported fires were successfully managed.
