According to the Minister, resolving this deficit will not be a short-term endeavor, requiring a commitment to specialized training spanning several years.
Klepovski reviewed past efforts to improve training pipelines, noting that the private specialization program implemented between 2017 and 2018 had not yielded the desired outcomes. He pointed out a notable imbalance in the current pool of specialists. While the country has seen an increase in certain fields, such as cardiology and plastic surgery, he highlighted a marked deficit in areas like pathology, anesthesiology, and radiology.
The Minister emphasized that the current situation means that while some areas are overrepresented, others are critically understaffed. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the health sector, confirming that investments will continue with the primary goal of systematically restoring the overall functionality and capacity of the national health system.
