IT IS NOT TO BE WORRIED ABOUT THE OLD BORDER FOR PENSIONERS

Dianela Ilievska, the deputy mayor, stated that the Vlada, led by VMRO-DPMNE, intends to uphold its stated commitments while prioritizing the interests of the citizenry. She emphasized that improving the standard of living for pensioners remains a primary focus for the administration. Speaking on behalf of the Vlada, Ilievska addressed the ongoing discussions regarding pension levels.

She indicated that before the next election cycle, the government plans to address measures designed to potentially reduce pensions. Specifically, she stated the Vlada’s intention to defend the current pension rate, arguing against proposals that would lower benefits by 2,000 denars per pensioner. According to Ilievska, the Vlada remains committed to defending the economic interests of pensioners amid various political debates and opposition initiatives.

She asserted that the administration will continue to oppose any measure she believes would negatively impact the living standard of retirees. The official position maintained was that the Vlada would continue its efforts to safeguard the financial security of the pensioner community against proposed cuts.
