The ratified agreements – FINANCIAL CONSTRUCTION FOR THE 8TH CYCLOPEDIA

On Vesak Day in Vlatadon, the necessary financing documents for the railway line connecting Kriva Palanka and Devebi Bazar were formally signed. This railway segment constitutes the third major stage of the original Koridor 8 initiative. The signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Hristo Miskoiski and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikolovski, who oversaw the formal sealing of the documents for this strategic infrastructure construction project.

According to the official press service, the financing was secured through several agreements. Key among these were the Investment Grant Agreement provided by the European Union’s Western Balkans Investment Fund (WBIF). Additionally, specific financing arrangements were executed with both the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

These agreements confirm the substantial financial backing for the railway’s development. The allocated funds, derived from unconditional financing sources, are designated to support the completion of this vital transportation link. The signing marks a significant milestone in the modernization of regional infrastructure, aiming to enhance connectivity between the specified locations.

The involvement of high-ranking government officials underscores the strategic importance placed on the timely execution of this railway construction project for the economic development of the region.
