Syndicate Announces Minimum Basket Cost of 68,654 Denars for June
Skopje, June 20, 2026 – The Union of Macedonian Syndicates (SCM) announced today the minimum cost of its “basket,” a benchmark for assessing the financial needs of a four-member family, at 68,654 denars for the month of June. This figure represents an 88-denar reduction from the previous minimum basket established on June 1st. The announcement, disseminated via Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and email, highlighted the breakdown of essential expenses.
The syndicate’s minimum basket includes 68,654 denars for general needs, 84,024 denars allocated for food, and 25,120 denars for clothing and footwear. Operating costs are estimated at 6,379 denars. This translates to approximately 100 euros, or 6,511 denars, for a family’s clothing and shoe requirements.
Separately, the government confirmed a reduction in fuel prices, effective Monday, June 20th. Companies are scheduled to begin paying premiums on the same day.
