The Italian Foreign Minister: He refused the offer of asylum in the EU, Trump harmed the whole of Italy

Italian Prime Minister Cancels Planned NATO Visit Following Trump Comments

Rome – The Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced today that Italy will not be sending Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic to the NATO meeting scheduled for June 21st and 22nd. The planned visit, intended to include a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has been cancelled.

The decision follows statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump. Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giancarlo Tajani, stated that he had requested a photograph with the President, but was declined due to the President’s “personal commitments.”

Following the cancellation, President Trump reportedly stated that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had “asked” him for the meeting.

The Italian prime minister’s decision reflects a response to what sources describe as critical remarks from the U.S. President. The planned meeting was intended to discuss ongoing international security matters.

This development comes as diplomatic relations between the United States and Italy are currently under review. Further details regarding the cancellation are expected to be released by the Italian government.
