A woman from Prilep was tricked out of 700,000 denars, she thought she would get money for a sick child

A woman from Prilep reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MV) regarding a financial scam she believes she was a victim of. According to the MV, the woman stated that she began communicating with an individual via a social network in February of this year. She alleged that this contact claimed to be assisting with funds intended for the treatment of a sick child.

The woman further reported that she and her husband had transferred a sum of money to this individual. The MV stated that the contact initially provided her with a few hundred thousand dinars, which led the woman to suspect that the entire arrangement was fraudulent. The incident was reported to the authorities at the Prilep OVR on July 14th at 2:30 PM.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that measures were taken to investigate and clarify the situation surrounding the reported theft. The core allegations involve the woman losing 700,000 dinars through this online scheme. The investigation centers on the claim that the funds were solicited under the guise of medical necessity for a sick child.

The MV confirmed receipt of the report and initiated necessary procedures to address the suspected financial deception involving the woman from Prilep.
