Significant Water Supply Disruption Expected in Skopje Tomorrow
Skopje residents can anticipate a prolonged water outage tomorrow, June 20, 2026, due to a detected defect in a water valve affecting the pipelines supporting the Krste Misirkov and Kej Dimitrov bridges. The Water and Sewerage Company reports a planned interruption of water service lasting over 22 hours. The disruption will impact a wide area of central Skopje, including key institutions and commercial zones.
Specifically, the outage will affect MANU, the Grand Court of Skopje, the Mladinski cultural center, the University Library, the University of St. Cyril and Methodius, and the Mavrovka commercial center. Other impacted locations include portions of Turska chaseria, Saat Kula, and streets Petar Gjorgiev, Ottakar Kerzovan, and Avokatska.
Furthermore, the outage will extend to parts of the Krnjevo bridge and Macedonian Television, as well as the Ist Geta area. Reduced water pressure will also impact the zone between the Autocamp and Camp. Officials are working to repair the faulty valve and restore full water service as quickly as possible.
Residents are advised to conserve water where possible during this period. The disruption is expected to primarily affect the city of Skopje.
