Former Coalition Partners Reaffirm Focus on Albanian Rights in Macedonia
KOLUMNA – A renewed emphasis on securing Albanian rights within Macedonia is being spearheaded by a collaborative effort, following a period of divergent priorities among former coalition partners. The core issue centers around the implementation of the Albanian language within the Constitution and its application across various sectors of Macedonian society. This renewed focus addresses concerns stemming from a perceived decline in progress regarding Albanian representation within state institutions, including the administration and key state bodies.
The initiative also seeks to rectify what is viewed as a regression in addressing historical grievances, referencing a period beginning in 2001. Specifically, the effort aims to counter what has been described as a “Machine of Mitskoski’s” actions, encompassing stalled Eurointegration processes, economic challenges, and the non-recognition of international treaties. The question who will champion Albanian rights is at the heart of this renewed push.
The coalition partners are working to establish a comprehensive assessment of the situation and to ensure the full realization of Albanian rights within the Macedonian state.
