Food and Veterinary Agency to Conduct Quality Checks on Dairy Products
The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) will initiate a series of spot checks on dairy products, including milk, dairy goods, and cheese, to verify product quality and ensure compliance with declared standards. The agency intends to seize approximately 91 tons of products from both domestic production and imported sources. The initiative follows findings where some operators have been found to have discrepancies between the quantities declared and the actual products.
These results are being reported to the milkers, and the collected data will be publicly available. A primary focus of the checks will be on Milkom, a producer of curd cheese, milk, and cheese sourced from domestic and imported dairy products. The agency is providing unofficially informed updates to the milkers regarding the outcomes of the spot checks and the data gathered.
The FVA’s actions are aimed at maintaining product quality and ensuring transparency within the dairy supply chain. The agency’s ongoing monitoring will continue to assess whether the declared quantities being presented align with the actual volumes of milk and dairy products.
