Bulgarian Envoy Presents Position Following Family Concerns
Skopje – Bran Petrovski, the envoy representing VMRO-DPMNE, addressed the press following a briefing by Special Bulgarian Envoy, Dimitar Filipche, who replaced Ambassador Nikola Mladenov. The exchange occurred as Bulgaria issued a diplomatic note, prompting concerns within Macedonia. Petrovski stated that the political partners of Filipche, including Bulgarian authorities led by President Rumen Radev, have not recognized Macedonian identity, language, culture, and history.
The issuance of the diplomatic note is viewed as a direct violation of the security of Nikola Mladenov’s family. Evidence related to the situation, including photographs of official vehicles, was publicly disseminated via social media platforms, specifically Facebook. Petrovski emphasized that official Sofia has offered no justification for the actions taken.
The situation remains a point of contention, and the role of the envoy, Filipche, is still being assessed. The Macedonian government continues to assert its national identity and the importance of upholding established historical narratives. The focus remains on addressing the security concerns raised and navigating the ongoing diplomatic dialogue.
