During periods of extremely low water levels in the Danube River in Hungary, an incident involving an Opel Corvette was reported in September 2013. The remains of the vehicle were recovered from a private residence in the village of Sob. The recovery effort involved local emergency services.

Among the contents found were several dozen fish and a suitcase believed to contain the victim’s money. The owner, identified as pensioner Imre Pastor, confirmed ownership of the car by matching the registration plates, noting that the vehicle had been subject to theft previously. The incident highlighted the challenges posed by the critically low water levels of the Danube, which led to the unusual circumstances surrounding the recovery.
