Antropik Founder Warns of Autonomous Vehicle Control Concerns
Jezek Clark, founder of Antropik, has cautioned that technological advancements in autonomous vehicles are rapidly approaching a point where systems may develop independently of human intelligence. Speaking on the BBC, Clark highlighted the current imbalance within the intelligent vehicle industry. “You can choose to turn your foot off the gas pedal and put your foot on the clutch,” Clark stated.
“In moments, the industry for intelligent vehicles has gas pedals, but there are no clutch pedals.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining human control over these increasingly sophisticated systems. Clark believes that intelligent vehicles will have a significant and widespread impact on society, functioning primarily as a helpful tool. He stressed the need for proactive regulatory development.
“The Holy One needs to think and we need to be at the end to develop new regulations that will enable us to do so,” he explained. The discussion centers on ensuring that human oversight remains central to the evolution of autonomous vehicle technology, particularly as systems become more complex and operate without direct human intervention.
