However, the Ministry noted that the situation across the region and in Europe is under close observation. Specifically, decreasing water levels in major waterways such as the Danube and the Rhine are affecting electricity generation capacity throughout the continent.
To manage these regional fluctuations, the Ministry stated that the state-owned company, MEPSOS, collaborates with the European Union to regularly monitor hydrographic parameters, available water reserves, and future forecasts. This coordinated monitoring aims to allow for the timely implementation of necessary measures as environmental conditions evolve. Regarding the immediate situation within Macedonia, authorities reported that current water accumulation levels are stable, maintaining an efficiency rate of approximately 70%.
This current operational status allows for safe and reliable operation of the national electricity grid.
