VMRO-DPMNE Criticizes Government Response to European Reform Agenda
Skopje – The VMRO-DPMNE party has issued a statement regarding the Macedonian government’s approach to the ongoing European Union reform agenda. The party asserts that the European Commission’s assessment of the situation, particularly concerning the Social Democratic Party (SDS), Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, and Veno Filipce, represents the dominant perspective. During a recent press conference, Veno Filipce, currently serving as the special envoy and spokesperson for Rumen Radev, was accused of disseminating misinformation and engaging in manipulative tactics.
VMRO-DPMNE contends that Filipce, previously the leader of SDSM, is acting as a promoter for the return of authoritarian practices associated with previous Bulgarian leadership. Specifically, Filipce publicly criticized Prime Minister Hristo Misko, alleging he was undermining efforts to advance the reform agenda within the EU. According to VMRO-DPMNE, this criticism represents a departure from collaborative efforts.
“Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with the government and joining the fight for a better future,” the party stated, “Mr. Filipce engaged in the spread of lies and manipulation.” The statement reflects ongoing tensions surrounding the government’s strategy within the context of the EU reform agenda.
