National Park of Pelister Rescues Injured Bear Following Dog Attack
The National Park of Pelister successfully intervened to rescue a bear following an attack by a stray dog within the park’s territory. A rescue team, led by the head of the technical department, Zoran Projchevski, and rescuer Nedzip Sefedini, responded swiftly to the incident. The bear sustained significant injuries as a result of the attack.
Park officials reported that the team was able to quickly remove the injured animal from immediate danger, preventing further harm. Veterinary assessments determined the bear was in a critical condition. Following the rescue, the bear was subsequently found deceased.
Authorities issued a supplementary certificate to facilitate the bear’s reunification with its mother. Park Director Ivancho Tosevski emphasized the importance of immediate action, stating that utilizing sound was instrumental in the successful rescue operation and in mitigating any potential further damage. The National Park of Pelister continues to monitor the area and implement preventative measures.
