United States Receives Luxury Aircraft Donated by Qatar
The United States received a luxury aircraft as a “unconditional” gift from the government of Qatar last year. The U.S. military completed modifications to the aircraft, valued at approximately $400 million.
During a speech at the Andrews Joint Base, former President Trump described the aircraft as having been “transformed into a flying White House of unprecedented luxury.” He characterized the level of opulence as unlike anything previously seen. U.S. Air Force officials announced that the aircraft will now commence initial test flights.
These flights are being described as a “final test” to evaluate all implemented modifications. The changes include enhancements to security systems, mission communications, logistical support, and advanced capabilities. Following the testing phase, the aircraft is intended for use as a presidential transport.
The delivery represents a significant addition to the U.S. Air Force’s fleet.
