The safety of minors, pedestrians, and motorcyclists is significantly jeopardized by the reckless operation of electric or moped scooters, as well as by individuals who violate laws while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Authorities are currently monitoring the implementation of new regulations and the students involved in the process. Yesterday, between 17:00 and 23:00, the Mobile Unit for Public Safety, operating within the Section for Thinking and Escorting Services and the Department for Thinking and Escorting Services for Crime Prevention in the city of Strumica, conducted enforcement actions.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the purpose of these operations was to sanction motorcyclists who failed to adhere to traffic rules and established laws. The focus of these safety measures is to address the risks posed by impaired driving and unsafe vehicle operation. The presence of individuals under the influence of substances, coupled with the hazards presented by certain motorized scooters, constitutes a serious threat to public safety.
These ongoing monitoring efforts aim to ensure compliance with traffic laws and protect vulnerable road users, including children and pedestrians.
