Tragedy in Ohrid – PACKAGES WITH DRUGS WERE DISTRIBUTED AND STARTED

On July 8, 2026, an incident occurred at the “Tourist” stop in Ohrid involving a commercial vehicle. At approximately 10:30 PM, a man identified as I.M., aged 32 and a resident of Ohrid, was operating a Czech-branded Renault van bearing national insignia. Reports indicate that the driver failed to stop the bus at the designated location.

Following the initial incident, I.M. was subsequently taken into custody by police for multiple alleged violations. Police officers observed the vehicle and promptly requested medical assistance via a police unit.

This unit transported a passenger, identified as S.P., aged 44, to the Ohrid Regional Hospital. According to Stefan Dimoski of the SRS Ohrid, S.P. passed away at the hospital despite the immediate medical measures administered.

The incident has prompted an official investigation. The acting prosecutor has ordered that the inquiry into the matter will be concluded within the following day. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the failure to stop the vehicle and the subsequent events.
