Toshkovski: Interpelatsiya is an inexpensive political insult to proceed with the cleansing of criminals and corruption

Toshevski Dismisses Interpellation as Politically Motivated

Minister of Internal Affairs Pancho Toshevski has dismissed an upcoming interpellation presented by the Left party as an “inexpensive political insult” aimed at obstructing efforts to combat criminal activity and corruption. The interpellation is scheduled to be discussed at a session of the Assembly on June 24, 2026. Toshevski contends that the move represents a deliberate attempt to impede progress in addressing organized crime and corruption within the country.

He further suggests that the Left party’s action demonstrates a consistent, albeit potentially unintentional, alliance with the SDSM and DUI political coalitions. The interpellation, the third against Toshevski in under two years, was announced through a staged press conference. Toshevski characterized the event as a politically motivated and ultimately unproductive effort.

He reiterated his commitment to pursuing investigations into criminal and corrupt practices, regardless of political pressure. The Minister’s statement reflects ongoing tensions between the government and the Left party regarding strategies to address serious crime and corruption within Macedonia.
