The spread of fires in the vicinity of Ohrid’s settlement of Baraki is wider

A recent fire occurred yesterday in the Gostivska neighborhood of Ohrid, an area known locally as Baraki. The incident, which involved an open space, prompted an immediate response from the city’s territorial fire department. According to the TPPE Ohrid, emergency services dispatched four fire trucks and seventeen firefighters to manage the situation.

Fire department officials noted that the smoke was actively smoldering, creating a situation that required the evacuation of nearby residents. A significant concern during the response was the presence of strong winds, which heightened the risk of the blaze spreading to adjacent residential structures. The intervention demonstrated a coordinated effort involving emergency services, local residents, and volunteers.

However, the aftermath of the incident resulted in considerable financial losses. In light of the damages sustained, Ohrid firefighters issued an appeal to the citizenry. They urged the public to exercise greater responsibility regarding fire prevention.

Furthermore, they requested that any individuals observed causing fires report them immediately to the relevant institutional authorities. The department emphasized the critical need for community vigilance to prevent similar incidents in the future.
