Zarkov Receives Life Sentence Following Violent Crime
Shtip, North Macedonia – Zarkov has been sentenced to life imprisonment following convictions for theft and robbery, stemming from a violent incident that resulted in the death of his 84-year-old mother. The Basic Court-Shtip initially sentenced Zarkov to life imprisonment in February of this year. The case centers around an attack carried out at Zarkov’s residence, where he was shot with a knife.
The weapon used in the attack was recovered from the scene. Following the death of his mother, Zarkov was again sentenced to life imprisonment. The Appeal Court-Shtip affirmed the Basic Court’s decision, upholding the life sentence for the charges of theft and robbery.
Evidence presented to the court detailed the circumstances of the crime, including the use of a knife and the tragic loss of life. Authorities released a photograph of the incident alongside the announcement of the sentencing on June 18, 2026. The investigation remains ongoing.
