Bulgarian Prime Minister Radev Urges Inclusion in EU Negotiations

Tetovo, North Macedonia – Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev addressed the opening of the EU-Western Balkans summit today, emphasizing the need for the Bulgarians to be formally included in the European Union’s negotiation process. Speaking at the event, where the “Child of the World” is being held, Radev stated that the EU should extend membership invitations to all countries seeking to join, with a particular focus on assisting North Macedonia. “We are prepared to help any country that applies for membership, especially our brothers from North Macedonia,” Radev declared.

He reiterated the expectation for the implementation of the negotiating framework and expressed a pressing need for the Bulgarians to be incorporated into it. According to Raev, the inclusion must be handled by the committee responsible for initiating the negotiation process. He characterized the matter as “a matter of urgency,” stressing the importance of a formal approach.

The Prime Minister also announced the unveiling of “Child of the World,” marking a separate event within the summit. The focus remains on facilitating dialogue and advancing the negotiation process, with the terap of a comprehensive solution being a key objective.
