The Ministry of Interior has closed the case of the murder of a 48-year-old woman

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has closed the investigation into the murder of a 48-year-old woman, identified as J.G., and her one-year-old son, S.G., in Skopje. The decision to close the case followed the emergence of suspicion implicating S.G. in the death of J.G.

The sequence of events began on June 26, 2026. Initially, S.G. reported to police that J.G.

had departed from the residence where they lived. The following day, S.G. subsequently reported finding J.G.’s body near the village of Levetci in Skopje.

Typically, law enforcement and the individual who discovers a body are responsible for initiating the investigation into such a serious matter. However, due to developing suspicions that S.G. was responsible for the death of the 48-year-old woman, the investigation was halted.

The official case was formally opened on June 28, 2026, at 12:55 p.m. The initial discovery of J.G.’s body occurred on the morning of June 26, 2026, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs facility. Despite the initial findings concerning the 1-year-old son and the 48-year-old mother, the MUP concluded that the evidence pointed toward S.G.’s potential involvement in the fatality.

Consequently, the formal case was closed, marking the conclusion of the police inquiry into the tragic events of that year.
