The lightweight “Enoksaparin, Nadroparin and Rivaroxaban” can be taken with a prescription from a pharmacy, without refund from the FZOM

During a recent press conference, the Director of the Health Insurance Fund (HIF), Sasho Klevski, provided an update regarding the coverage and reimbursement of several anticoagulant medications. Mr. Klevski addressed the current availability of these critical drugs in local pharmacies.

He noted that while two distinct brands of enoxaparin were previously available, and the combination of nadroparin and rivaroxaban was accessible through a single brand, the positive list of covered medications will be expanded. Moving forward, the list will officially incorporate both nadroparin and rivaroxaban, alongside the medication clenaon (enoxaparin). To ensure continuity of care and protect the rights of existing patients, the HIF has established specific reimbursement measures.

Patients who purchased the medication clenaon during the period spanning July 1st to July 15th will receive reimbursement specifically for that timeframe. The Director of the HIF confirmed that the Fund is preparing to initiate the first payment to the relevant society on July 1st. These announcements aim to clarify the scope of drug coverage, ensuring that patients have clear guidelines regarding the use and reimbursement of essential blood-thinning treatments, including nadroparin and rivaroxaban.
