“Generala Weekend” Initiative Concludes Sixth Edition, Mobilizing Significant Waste
The sixth edition of “Generala Weekend,” a prominent environmental initiative recognized globally and within the Balkans, concluded successfully on May 8-10, 2026. The event, launched at 10:10 a.m. on June 16, 2026, brought together a vast network of participants and achieved substantial results in waste mobilization.
Over 70,688 kilograms of waste were mobilized during the six-day event, building upon the initiative’s previous accomplishments. Across its six-year history, “Generala Weekend” has collectively mobilized more than 2.2 million kilograms of waste, transforming it into a national movement for environmental protection. The initiative involved over 600 organizations, 250 state institutions, schools from across the country, and 600 companies.
Participants engaged in activities aimed at reducing and managing waste. This latest edition further solidified the initiative’s impact, demonstrating a continued commitment to addressing environmental concerns through collective action and the mobilization of resources – specifically, the removal of over 70,688 kilograms of waste. The event underscored the initiative’s growing scale and influence within the region.
