G7 Leaders to Convene in France to Address Global Challenges

The Group of Seven (G7) nations – including Saudi Arabia (SAD), Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan – will hold an in-person summit in France from June 15th to 17th. The discussions will center on a range of pressing international issues, with a key focus on bolstering global stability and addressing ongoing conflicts. Several key topics will be addressed during the meeting.

A primary objective is to finalize details regarding an agreement with US President Donald Trump, particularly concerning the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and providing support for Lebanon. The G7 members are also expected to reaffirm their commitment to support Ukraine, a significant area of concern. According to a statement from a G7 representative, Roter, the group anticipates demonstrating unity in its backing of Ukraine.

European G7 members intend to persuade President Trump of the justification for continued assistance, highlighting Europe’s current responsibility for the financial, military, and political weight of the war. Intellectual property protection will also be a discussed priority. The summit aims to coordinate international efforts and solidify the G7’s role in addressing these complex challenges.
