Agreement Signed for Combined Heat and Power Plant Project
A €2.4 million grant agreement has been signed between the EU SME and the World Bank to support preparatory activities for the “REK BITOLA 1” combined heat and power plant project. The signing ceremony took place at the Vlada premises and was attended by Christian Mitkoski. The agreement, formalized by EU SME general director Lazor Uzunchev and Karol Medevan, marks a key step in the investment’s realization – a significant undertaking within the domestic energy transmission and modernization sector.
Lazor Uzunchev and Stela Medevan emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with the World Bank. They stated that this partnership validates the EU SME’s development vision and its strategic projects focused on decarbonization and the complete transformation of North Macedonia’s energy sector. The grant represents a substantial contribution to the project, furthering efforts to modernize the energy infrastructure.
