The Culture Coordinator led the post in the International Labour Organization

A recent press conference concerning the acquisition of copyrights from the Cultural Syndicate highlighted ongoing disputes within the sector of culture. The event, featuring Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Ljutkov on March 11, 2026, took place against the backdrop of an international presentation delivered by the Syndicate at the International Labour Organization (ILO). During the presentation, representatives of the Syndicate addressed the history of the dispute, noting discrepancies in representation regarding the Collective Agreement.

They pointed out that the Minister’s involvement at the time of the initial documentation differed significantly from the current proceedings. The core of the conflict centers on alleged non-observance of rights stipulated within the existing Collective Agreement. Due to these unresolved issues, the SKRM has initiated significant legal action.

The organization reported submitting 800 appeals to the Supreme Court. Furthermore, an initiative, presented by an external party, has been lodged with the Statute Court, specifically concerning the status and potential revision of the Collective Agreement for Culture. The Syndicate detailed the scope of these disputes, indicating that the legal strategy aims to secure formal authorization and recognition from the competent authorities.

The ongoing legal maneuvers underscore the complexity of maintaining labor standards and defining rights within the cultural industry. The proceedings thus involve multiple judicial bodies addressing the foundational agreement that governs professional practices within the field.
