The liberation of the media and pluralism in Hungary now must be a priority, according to CPJ (Committee to Protect Journalists). “The Hungarian media’s seizure by Orban has turned it into a major issue from the point of view of propaganda in the hands of the Fidesz party,” said Tom Gibson, CPJ deputy director for impact.

“This has limited the access of Hungarians to information and seriously damaged the functioning of the Hungarian democracy, as well as the functioning of the institutions.”
