A new initiative, the “Months of Internship” program, is being established to provide students with practical knowledge directly applicable to careers within public administration. This structured program is scheduled for implementation during August and September, operating in collaboration with public universities. The launch of this internship initiative represents a tangible investment in the youth demographic and serves as a key component of the Republic of Macedonia’s strategic planning.
Specifically, it aligns with the Strategy for Regional Development for 2021-2031. This strategy was adopted by the Assembly as an amendment and supplement to the overarching National Development Strategy spanning 2024–2044. The primary objective of implementing these specialized internship programs is to enhance the job readiness and employability of young, unemployed citizens, with a particular focus on supporting women entering the workforce.
By bridging the gap between academic theory and professional practice, the program aims to ensure that students graduate not only with theoretical knowledge but also with demonstrable, real-world experience within government sectors. Over the course of several months, participants will gain direct exposure to the operational procedures of public institutions. This hands-on approach is designed to maximize the transition rate from academic life to professional employment.
The collaboration between educational institutions and the public sector is intended to create a more robust pipeline of skilled professionals prepared to contribute immediately to regional and national development goals.
